Deontay Wilder suggests ‘brainwashed’ Anthony Joshua is a fake during bombshell interview

DEONTAY WILDER pulled no punches during a brutal interview in which he claimed heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua is a “brainwashed” fake who is not in control of his own destiny.

Negotiations have been going back and forth between the two reigning kings of the division since Joshua defeated Joseph Parker in March, adding the WBO belt to his IBF and WBA straps.
Wilder, the WBC champion, had been rumoured to be next in line for the 28-year-old Briton, with the winner being crowned the undisputed king of the division but in recent weeks talks between the two camps have slowed.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently claimed a deal to face AJ’s WBA mandatory Alexander Povetkin was all but done should Wilder fail to agree to their terms.

But in a fiery response this week, Wilder tore into Olympic gold medallist Joshua for allowing his team to call the shots during negotiations.
“He should have been in that movie Get Out because they have got him brainwashed,” Wilder told Behind The Gloves.
“Joshua doesn’t run his team. He doesn’t run his team like I run mine.
“He doesn’t fight who he wants to fight. They pick it for him.

“Everything is a made-up thing with him, from ticket sales and scalpers to make it seem like ‘oh we sold out in five minutes, 30 minutes’. Scalping tickets, getting belts, everything is out.
“This is not me, this is just pointing things out. I don’t have to do it anymore because people can see it for themselves.”
It comes after Hearn labelled Wilder “deluded” for causing delays to negotiations after having a contract sent out to him reportedly offering improved terms to fight Joshua this year.
